At the Oaks we pride ourselves on doing all we can to meet the individual needs of all our children in the school. Over the recent times we have noticed an increase in the number of children presenting with needs associated with autism.
With this in mind our inclusion leader, Sam Winton, along with her team have worked hard to train all our staff in meeting the often complex needs of these children. In recognition of the excellent work the school does working with children who present with autism we have been awarded the Silver Autism Aware Award from West Sussex County Council’s Autism and Social Communication Team. We are all so proud to be recognised in this way and continue to strive to do all we can to meet the holistic needs of each and every one of our children so they each get the best start in life by ensuring they:
- achieve above and beyond expected national standards
- become valuable members of the community
- consider themselves as life-long learners
