Year 3 Shelter Building Visit - Tilgate Park

We are very excited as we have managed to secure a very unique outdoor experience. We will be spending time with the shelter building team at Tilgate Park. There, the children will have hands-on Stone Age experiences such as shelter building and fire making.

The visit will take place on Monday 13 th October, 2025

Session 1 - Chaffinch: 9:30-11:30am

Session 2 - Goldfinch: 12:30-14:30pm

The cost of this visit will be £8.50 per child and should be paid via your School Gateway account. The contribution is voluntary. We must tell you, however, that the school could not bear any of the cost of the visit without reducing its ability to provide the books and materials that are essential for its curricular needs. The visit will not take place unless all parents, who are able, are willing to contribute. Should you have any difficulty in making payment, you are invited to see the Headteacher or School Business Manager in confidence, so that suitable arrangements can be made.

Children should wear their school uniforms but with comfortable footwear, and must ensure they bring a coat as we will be outside for the duration of the visit. Children will need a packed lunch, as we will be taking slightly different lunch times to usual. Caterlink are able to provide a packed lunch for any Free School Meals children if needed - please order in the usual way on School Gateway. The Caterlink packed lunch comprises a sandwich, piece of fruit, a cookie and a bottle of water. ( Non-FSM parents are able to order a packed lunch too - they will cost the usual £3.15.)
