Tree Donation from Albion in the Community

Albion in the Community supports our school in lots of ways and their latest contribution is a donation of trees through the Carbon Footprint Tree Planting Scheme. The aim of the project is to plant trees in locations across the UK in order to offset carbon emissions and to help preserve the UK’s environment and biodiversity by planting trees native to the UK. Mr Gunn was delighted to recently announce that as part of this scheme The Oaks has been allocated 400 trees! We have already received 80 saplings, some of which have been planted to form a hedgerow near the bike sheds and we have also planted a nursery of Rowan trees which will be moved next year. The children who are attending school at the moment have been carefully tending and watering the saplings each day and we look forward to receiving the remaining trees in the autumn.
